Useful information for all daycare, boarding, overnight and walking clients
What vaccinations does my dog need?
Dogs must have up-to-date core vaccinations. Kennel cough is recommended but optional.
Puppies must complete their vaccination course before attending.
Do you accept unneutered dogs?
Yes — depending on age, temperament, and compatibility with our small groups. We assess
each dog individually to ensure safety and comfort for everyone.
Do new dogs need a trial session?
A short free introduction helps us understand your dog's personality and how they settle in a
home environment. It also reassures nervous dogs before a full day or stay.
Are dogs ever left alone?
No. Dogs are always supervised, and for overnight stays Liz sleeps downstairs with them so they
never feel alone.
Do you take dogs with anxiety or medical needs?
Yes — many anxious or sensitive dogs thrive in a calm home setting. Medication can be administered
as instructed. We tailor routines to your dog’s needs.
What should I bring for my dog?
Bring their leads. harness, food, bowls, beds, medication if needed, for boarding and just leads and harness for daycare,
Do you accept reactive dogs?
Mild reactivity can often be managed with slow introductions and a small group. Severe reactivity
or aggression may not be suitable. We assess each case individually.
How secure is your home and garden?
The garden is fully fenced and gated, always supervised, and dogs are never given unsupervised
outdoor access. Doors remain locked for safety.
Can I bring my dog’s bed or toys?
Yes — familiar smells help dogs settle more easily if boarding but not for daycare. No toys allowed to reduce the risk of guarding resources.
Do you require deposits or have a cancellation policy?
We appreciate as much notice as possible for cancellations. No deposits are required, but you must be registered as a member of MutTrails before they can attend any session with us.
Do small and large dogs mix together?
Only if appropriate. We group dogs by confidence and play style, ensuring quieter or smaller dogs
have calm spaces when needed.
What if my dog becomes unwell?
We contact you immediately. If urgent, we use your registered vet or the local out-of-hours vet.
Your dog’s welfare is always the priority.
Do you send photo or video updates?
Yes — owners receive updates and video ever evening via What's App so you know your dog is settled and happy.
How do drop-offs and pick-ups work?
You drop off between 7.15am -9am to keep arrivals calm and controlled. You can collect after 4pm and up to 7pm for both daycare and boarding. We only collect and drop back for our walking services. We try to be as flexible as we can, just let us know your approximate schedule in advance.
Are you fully licensed and insured?
Yes — MutTrails holds a 5-Star licence with Test Valley Council for the last 15 years, and is fully insured for daycare,
boarding, overnight stays, and group walks.e also have public liability for when we are outside or around the gerneral public
